PROVIDENCE, R.I. — A female Marine from Cranston who died in a suicide bombing attack in Iraq was remembered Saturday as a popular high school cheerleader who was “always ready to help anyone out.”

Holly was a great person, anyone lucky enough to have met her knows the happiness and love she gave off. I think of her often and wish I could talk to her one more time. It is hard to lose a friend that you have not talked to in a while. Even though I will no longer be able to make contact with her in person, I talk to her daily. I know that she is an angel in heaven looking over all of us. One day, if I have a little girl of my own I will name her Holly. SO

I have been on so many of these and have tried so many times to write something, but before now I never could. I guess I have finally come to the realization that no matter what I write, I can not change what happened. I think about you everyday and miss you so so much. You were a great roommate, an amazing person, and an even better friend. With all my heart, I hope you knew just how much you meant to me. I will remember you everyday and cherish all the times we spent together. I love you and I miss you dearly.
Until the day we meet again,

My bestfriend, my angel. I thought as the days went on it would get a little easier, but it doesnt. i cry myself to sleep wishing things would change. Holly i miss you so much. I talk to alex and help him through this too as the pain we both have is so strong. we were up until 5am just talking about you hol, and all the memories we have shared with you. I told him about all the goofy things you and I did while he was away at iraq and when i came down to NC, and how Doc caught you singing into the hair brush while we were getting ready to head out for the night. that was great. i couldnt stop laughing. that was what you did best you always made me laugh. Holly i miss you sooooo much. i wish i could have taken all the pain you recieved, instead of you recieving it. HOlly ill see you when i cross over! i miss you. Danielle

I hung out with Holly on a couple of occasions and she was a great person. She made me laugh a lot and have a good time. She will be missed very much. But I will not mourn, although it was just a few times we hung out, i will remember those and remember what she was doing and why she died. She brought a smile to everyone she met and knew. To her parents I am sorry for the lose.

Shattered by the news on that friday morning, I sat trembling for hours waiting to hear form my Jessica. though I was truely relieved that she was ok, the reality of your loss struck me deeply.
I'm sure that our girls knew each other and that Holly will be missed dearly by her fellow Marines.

To the living I am gone
To the sorrowful I will never return
To the angry I was cheated
But to the happy I am at peace

And to the faithful I have never left
I can not speak but I can listen
I can not be seen but I can be heard

So as you stand upon the shore
Gazing at the beautiful sea
Remember me

As you look in awe at a mighty forest
And its grand majesty
Remember me

Remember me in your heart
In your thoughts
And your memories of the times we loved
The times we cried
The battle I fought
And the times we laughed
For if you always think of me
I will have never gone.
