My heart is still broken John, I just wished you could have stayed.--Remember all the fun times we had and all the good times together. But now it just makes me feel so sad to think you are now gone forever.--I keep recalling your dying day, the time when we all just cried. My time with you was so special, our lives will be forever bound.--They say it was supposed to happen; that it was GOD'S wish. The days are long. The nights even longer. The pain has not erased, instead it's gotten stronger. Sometimes I am back there again, there at the funeral home on that sad, sad day enduring so much pain. I want to crawl into a hole and hide away. The pain is always there no matter what I do.

Inside my head, I hear you say, " you are so very strong, you can do this on your own." But it feels so wrong.~~I never got to say goodbye, that's what hurts the most. It haunts me to this very day, that you were so far away, I couldn't hold you close.~~I know that you are still close to us, I feel you in my heart, though you walk amongst the clouds, we're never far apart.~~Until the day we meet again, my arms will long to be wrapped around your loving form, where finally I'll be free.~~I try to understand why GOD chose me to endure this pain, this awful misery.~~Will I ever understand ? Will I never know why ? I can't think of a reason that you had to die.~~Sometimes these emotions are too hard to feel, but I hope they make me stronger, I hope they help me to heal.

I thought I would fall over and die. Maybe it was just a lie. I couldn't believe my ears. Nothing could stop the tears. My best friend gone forever, it was a relationship I did not want to sever. All my fears have come true. Now what do I do ? He left me all alone. This war isn't something one should condone. Terroism wasn't his choice. I wish he could have used his voice. Not one word could he say to me. Why couldn't I only see ? He was my best friend after all. But I just let him fall. Now my heart is filled with sorrow. And today is just yesterday's tomorrows.

How we spend our dash....I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend, he referred to the dates on the tombstone from the beginning to the end. He noted first came the date of his birth and spoke the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most was the dash between those years. For that dash represents all the time he spent alive on earth and now only those who loved him know how much that little line is worth. For it matters not how much we own...the cars...the house...the cash...what matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash. So think about this long and hard, are there things you'd like to change ? For we never know how much time is left that can still be arranged. If we just slow down enough to consider what is true and real, and understand the way other people feel. Be less quick to anger and show appreciation more and love people in our lives like we never have before. If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile, remembering this special dash may only last awhile. So when your eulogy is being read with your life's actions rehashed, would you be proud of the things they say and how you soent your dash ?--Thank You Mr. Aragon for your ultimate sacrifice not for yourself but for your country and all the people who love freedom all over the world. The Spirit of John.--I was standing on a hillside, in a field of blowing wheat, and the spirit of John appeared suddenly at my feet.--He looked at me with kind brown eyes an ancient wisdom shining through, and in the essence of his being I saw his love for me, too.--His mind did lock upon my heart, as I stood there on that day, then he told me of this story about a place so far away.--I stood upon that hillside in a field of blowing wheat, and in a twinkling of a second his spirit left my feet.--His tales put me at ease, my fears did fade away. He helped me know where he had gone when he left that day.-- I live among GOD and his creatures now, in the Heavens of your mind. So do not grieve for me, my friend as I am with my kind ( other defenders of the defenseless. Yes, we protect both man and beast.)--My heart is a rainbow's hue. My love is a shooting star. My boundaries are the milky way where I sparkle from afar.--There are no restrictions here for I am not confined but free to roam GOD'S Heavens among my kind ( defenders of freedom and the defenseless as well as making sure their life is not Hell.)--I nap the day on a snowy cloud, gentle breezes rocking me. And dream the dreams of my loving family and how it used to be.-- The trees are full of cookies and hamburgers abound. Pizza's line the walkway just waiting to be found.-- There is even a ring set up, the grass all lush and green. And everyone who gaits around becomes a beauty king or queen.--For we're all winners in this place. We have no faults, you see. And GOD passes out beauty crowns to each and everyone, even me.-- I drink from waters laced with gold. My world is a beauty to behold. And wise old people do form my pride, to amble at my side.--At night I sleep in an Angel Dog's arms, her arms protecting me. And moonbeams dance about us as stardust falls on thee.--You picture me as I was on Earth just before I died. The pain is gone, I am whole again, filled with love and pride.--So when your life on Earth is spent and you wait at Heaven's Gate. Have no fear or loneliness, for here you know I wait.

Forever changed....Can you see the change in me ? It may not be obvious to you. I participate in family activities. I attend family reunions...I help plan holiday meals. You tell me you're glad I don't cry anymore. But I do cry ! When everyone is gone- when it is safe- the tears fall. I cry in privacy so my family and friends don't worry. I cry until I am exhausted and can finally fall asleep. You tell me you admire my strength and positive attitude. But I am not strong, I feel that I have lost control; and I panic when I think about tomorrow...next week...next year. I go about the routine of my job. I complete my assigned tasks. I drink coffee and smile. You tell me you are glad to see I'm " over " the death of my loved one. But I'm not " over " it. If I get over it, I will not be the same as before my loved one died. I will never be the same. At times I think I am beginning to heal, but the pain of losing someone I loved so much has left a permanent scar on my heart. I visit neighbors. You tell me you're glad to see I'm holding up so well. But I'm not holding up well. Someties I want to lock the door and hide from the world. I spend time with my friends, I seem calm and collected. I smile when it is appropriate, you tell me it's good to see me back to my " old self." But I will never be back to my " old self." Death and grief, have touched my life... and I am forever changed.

My Dearest Loved Ones, I'm an Angel Now. One night I cried to Jesus as I sat beneath a tree, I looked into the open sky and hoped, He'd answer me.~~ " I'm lost Dear LORD, I've traveled far, but I still seem to roam. Please light the way and lead me, LORD, I need to get back home."~~ I told him of my burdens and of the sadness in my heart, that from His gracious love I'd never felt so apart. " Why did you take John, LORD ? I cannot understand ! I'm angry LORD, I'm missing him, I'm drowning in my sorrow. Please help me heal my yesterday and face each new tomorrow."~~ It was then I heard his gentle voice, and felt his presence near, how I wanted to hold John as I cried another tear.~~He said, " My Dearest Loved ones, I'm an Angel Now, my spirit will be free, I'm an Angel Now in Heaven, so please don't cry for me. I was chosen by our LORD above and now I'm in HIS care, when you need me, look inside your heart, I promise to be there.~~ No one can ever take away our bond with one another. For I'll always be your precious loved one John, as you will be my dear loved ones. So if you can not find your way, or the road seems far, just look up to the Heavens and I'll be your Guiding Star.

Friends, grief is like the wake behind the boat. It starts out as a huge wave that follows close behind you and is big enough to swamp and drown you if you suddenly move forward. But, if you keep moving the big wave will eventually dissipate.
