Terror Victims In London Attacks - Prayers - Condolences - Memorials

Our condolences

Like terrorist attacks before, the transit bombings in London represent a blow against all civilized people, all open societies, all who respect life and the rule of law. This is a call for nations of goodwill to unite and redouble efforts to stamp out terrorism. Group of Eight (G-8) leaders rightly responded with pledges of solidarity and cooperation in prosecuting the terrorists responsible.

Our heartfelt condolences go to the British people. The night before they had been celebrating their winning bid for the 2012 Olympics. The next day they mourned dozens dead and some 700 injured -- ordinary people who simply were going about their daily lives. These casualties pain us but must not change the resolve against terrorism.

As British Prime Minister Tony Blair rightly said, ''Whatever they do, it is our determination that they will never succeed in destroying what we hold dear in this country and in other civilized nations throughout the world.''

Rest in peace to all the innocent victims of the london terror attacks. I'm deeply saddened by the news and pray for the souls of the dearly departed. I never knew any of the victims, but I can't get my head around the fact that I'll never get the chance to. Rest in peace my sweethearts. I'm so sorry. I'm thinking of each and every one of you each and everyday. If I had one wish, it would be to end the killings. It's due time we all lived in peace with each other. As for the terrorists, they don't deserve to be given a second thought. Words can't express the anger and disgust I feel for these people, I can't even call them people. Rest in peace, looking forward to meeting you all someday beyond the clouds

Sorrow for the tragedy suffered by so many people in the bombings here in London doesn't stop me feeling the same sadness for the victims and families in the hotel and the market in Sharm el Sheikh, the little children being given sweets in East Baghdad and the soldier hading them out and all the other victims of atrocities.

I am first generation American, (my parents' relatives originally fled from Europe to Canada and UK before WWII.) Most of my family served the Crown proudly, and many died... When my Mother came to USA, I was raised to know that the UK and Commonwealth scarificed treasure, territory and thousands of lives to hold Evil in check until USA decided to get into the fight... Moreover, I know Britain remains a quiet, understated, - yet strong, leader in the fight against global terrorism and fascism.
Lest We forget: We thinking members of our nations' Public Safety agencies, as well as the armed forces, are ever-mindful that over 300 Britons were killed in NYC on 9/11, as well as on active combat service. We truly and deeply grieve for your losses. Now, 'let us pray for the dead, and fight like hell for the living ...' DELENDA ISLAMO-FASCISM EST!

Our hearts fell just as they did on 9/11 in America. As all of you have been by our side through thick and thin on the War on Terrorism, we Americans mourn with you and for all of you. Nobody deserves the horror and terror that these people have brought to all of us.
America stands UNITED with all of you during these times of grieving and times of terror. May God Bless you all and May God be with all of our soldiers no matter what branch or what country they serve and May He give them the strength, courage and ability to move on.

I live in USA and having learned of the unfortunate circumstances in London, I feel for all of the victims families. Even though I live many hours away from London I feel deeply sadden by the loss of human lifes. I know that the victims that have passed away are in a better place but what can I do to make it easier for the victims families or those that survived such misfortune? The only thing I can do is pray and fight for peace in the world. My promise to all is to not let your names be forgotten. O.Efthimiou

Dear Londoners ,
I am English and have been living in studying abroad for the last few months .
When I heard what had happened to my city a deep cloud of despair hung over me and the futile feeling of just wanting to help persistently throbbed at my insides.
I want every Londoner to know that in this World we command a great deal of respect for our history and for the nature of our dispositions . We are a people who are polite and hold each other with a respect a fellow English man should while at the same time capable of a strength that is sometimes called upon in such circumstances as the ferocious attack on our fellow citizens.
If we are anything we are only an example to how the whole World should be. This is evidently supported by the consistent new blood that renews the life of our country.
We will go on and we will be discouraged by such inhuman acts but that's what we do . We are British!

I am a few hundred miles north of london and have only been to the capital once. When I visited a few years back people did not appear friendly and I assumed london although vast to be a lonely place to be. HOW WRONG WAS I!!! Having seen the devastation last weeks terror has caused and watching the city come to a complete standstill for the silence today I am completely humbled by their community spirit, their love for their fellow neighbours and their courage to carry on. Although I knew no-one affected by this terrible event I am deeply saddened for everyone involved. My sincere and heartfelt condolences to you all. xxx

I'm not very good at praying and never seem to know what words are fitting, or what to say.
I know I'm glad to have allies like the British and I do thank God for them.

I have visited London. I was in the UK for three months during which time I grew to love the Brits very much. When the time came to fly home, I remember being heartbroken at the thought of leaving. I cried on the busride to the airport.

I have never found myself so attached to a country or her people as I became while in England. My dream is to one day return.

My heart is broken again, by the actions of a cowardly barbaric group of worldly misfits.

I am saddened by the actions of these monsters, and pray to God that those lost have not left us in vain.

I'd say "chin up" to London if I thought it otherwise. But knowing the British, you can rest assured that it would take a lot more to lower their chins than the actions of sub-humans filled with hatred.

They know not who they mess with.

God bless and keep you all, from an American

I pray to god that we dont give up. These murderers are sooooo scared they have to attack innocent people. I know not everyone likes america, or the west, but keep in mind these people dont really know our country. They dont even have TV. If they could live a life with freedom as we do, they would give their lives to stop this madness too. I just watched one of the beheadings on my computer, it almost made me vomit. the last attack showed signs of weakness. Now more and more people of the world hate these bastards. How long do they think they can keep it up. We seem to forget about the america that dropped the only two nucs in history. The bada** america that did'nt take sh*t from anyone. It is time to forget about being PC and start keeping our eye on all these towelheads. They are so brainwashed they would give their lives to kill innocent ones. I think we need to free all their weman first. The only people I know that are so scared of letting their spouce out of the house, are guys with small penises. Maybee thats what this is all about.

May the Angles in Heaven be with you and protect you. These evil ones will be caught. So if you see these anti protesters who preach hate in the streets of london and evil and foul your country, just take them off the street and kick em out of your country. These people who preach hate are not Muslims, these are terrorist. When are the liberlas in london are going to wake up. Why you let these evil one's on your street of London to preach death to freedom. Wake up france remember who saved your ass in WW2.
All the libs said that Iraq had these WMD's during the Clinton years even the United Nations and now france and Germany are turning the blind eye because you guy's sold weapons behind closed door's. So if North Korea sends a nuke over to Germany or france...guess what..fight your own battle... and let Tony Blair do his job and get rid of these terrorist for good...Liberals talk the talk but they will never pick up a gun to kill terrorist...liberals and anti war protesters are spolied and don't know the cost of freedom is...

I am so sorry - my heartfelt prayers for all the bereaved. How can these wicked young men have believed they were acting for Islam? Who has taught them such wicked ideas? I am so sorry for their parents, and of course, for all those who have had their lives devastated by this terrible act of terrorism. May God receive all the souls of the dead and bless them, and enable their families to find some comfort. I do not know how Allah will deal with those four men. A terrible tragedy. Allah is dead
2005-07-11
If Allah is alive and well, he will listen to the Muslims terrorists who burned themselves alive but I wonder if he is a businessman (god) he demanded the ultimate sacrifice to get to heave, what kind of god is that? he couldn't listen to them, can he not teach them, and listened to their prayer if they got a problem why not peacefully fight back and pray to their god? well sorry for them, they just wasting their precious life and money and energy just to shed innocent blood, if that deliver them to heaven killing innocent peoples blacks, white and Asians and humanity, but killing cannot change anything .maybe Allah is sleeping while his followers burned themselves to death, I doubted it if he is alive at all. I think he is a dead God

These lunatics are not helping their cause as their actions will unite the rest of the world against them, THEY ARE THE MINORITY. It will make us stronger and more united.

You come to place your bags of hate
On bus and train, you made us late
Yet we’ll be back again tomorrow
We’ll carry on despite our sorrow

Your bags of hate caused some to die
Yet we stride out strong with heads held high
You’ll never win, we will not bow
You can’t defeat us, you don’t know how

This London which we love with pride
Is a town where scum like you can’t hide
Don’t worry we will hunt you down
Then Lock you up in name of Crown

We’re London and we’re many races
Just look you’ll see our stoic faces
We all condemn your heinous act
You will not win and that’s a fact

We’ll mourn our dead and shed a tear
But we will not bow to acts of fear
You’re out there somewhere all alone
There’s nowhere now you can call home

Olympics ours we’ve won the race
Your timing then a real disgrace
Our strength you’ll find remains unbowed
We’re London and we’re very proud.

America is praying for all of you in this time of great pain. May your deceased rest in peace with their Creator and may your wounded heal not only on the outside, but on the inside. My prayer is that the people of Great Britain will stand up to those who inflict harm on the innocent and your resolve be strengthened.

my heart goes out to all the people who have been hurt one way or another, there are too many bad people out there in our world but the good people outweigh the bad by far, we have to keep on smiling and be brave. As someone whos brother in law was caught up in it all, i know what everyones going through, we were worried for hours and his phone was dead, but we were one of the lucky ones. One thing more, im so proud to be a londoner even if i now live in Manchester. Thinking of you all, joanne in Sale xxxxxxx

I want all of you to know that my prayers and thoughts are with you. I know that it is difficult to understand such violent and unnecessary acts of terrorism, but, just remember that your faith in GOD will see you through the rough times. I don't know when or if these barbaric acts will ever cease; but, I do know that killing innocent people is NEVER going to solve anything!! May GOD bless you all.

the poor victims that were killed because they were BLAMED for abuse of TERRORists in the FIRST PLACE
2005-07-08
here is the facts people. no more no less. bullies (the terrorists) are blaming their targets (this time the london victims) for THEIR OWN ORIGINAL abuse, get it folks? they are blaming westerners for going into afghanis. and iraq, so they say they are retaliating for this right? well hello, the reason we are in afghan. & iraq because THEY abused their own countrymen SEVERELY in the first place. their very own severe, severe abuse of their people caused westerners to go on there and intervene. so now we are being blamed in london for their original abuse in the mideast get it?? let's NOT take our EYES off of THE TRUTH lest we lose sight of the fact that, westerners are not at fault for trying to help innocent civilians (again targets and victims) of injustice done by bullies (muslim leaders in afghanistan, iraq, etc.) i pray to GOD>>>

people who have to suffer complicated grief
2005-07-08
my sister was murdered in 1982 at age 20 this is not like the death of a 90 year old grandma or grandpa. similarilty the guys and gals in london that dies, their familys are suffering from complicated grief because they are victims not just normal deaths so there will be rage suffered as a result. muslim bibles do not cry for more for mental illness and stress and the like in society but the actions of the terrorists are directly bringing mental illness into society in the form of rage..which will filter into society and eventually hit their families hard. also as all bullies do, the terrorists will self descruct.

Lets pray for all the injured people and people who died at the hands of these extremists. We can not let them bring us down, we are stronger than them, they are pathetic taking innocent lives. We need to be united. I work in the city and yesterday was shocking and chaotic and very frightening for everyone, we should also thank the emergency services for their brilliant work and quick response. Let us pray for everyone involved and their families. From Louise in the City of London

Dear people of London,
My heart is sick that you had to go through what you have today. Each day a part of me dies with all those sacrificed to this terrible time we live in. I see the beauty and wonderousness of life and trust that it will be restored...but perhaps not in the lifetime I have left.

I am so sorry for your losses. I pray to God that we will find a way to resolve the problems that lead to such desperate actions on the part of terrorists and honorable nations as well.

Much LOVE,
Mary
