William Joseph "Billy" Cashman was a welder. He grew up in Hell's Kitchen in New York, New York. William was a veteran of the 101st Airborne Division. He also held a red belt in karate. As a member of Metal Lathers Local 46 of the Ironworkers Union; he taught welding classes.

Cashman died at 60 in the crash of United Airlines flight 93 in the September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attack. He was on his way to his annual hiking trip in Yosemite National Park with his friend Patrick Driscoll.

my father ted lemoine worked with billy in local 46 metal lathers. today we were watching the shows about flight 93 and he started to tell me about ... he told me that he was a good guy and he knew that he wouldnt stand for any of that.. from what my dad told me about him.. it tells me that this guy was a hero .. and he will alwyas live on in my hear, my dads , billys family and friends. Im sorry for your lost and billy thanks.
